Pastor Phillip McKinney
As a teenager, Pastor Phil was a leader in his youth group. He felt a drive to see his peers flourish and find their purpose in God. At that time God spoke to his heart that he would one day be in full time ministry. Since then, Pastor Phil has had the opportunity to be a part of multiple ministries, helping to build the Kingdom of God and growing in his God-given gifts. Through a life changing experience in November 2009, God revealed His grace and the unconditional love of the Father. Pastor Phil learned there is not a single thing that he can do to obtain or maintain God's love and that everything was done at the cross of Calvary. It was during that encounter that God reminded him of the call on his life. He has since received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Ministry, with an emphasis in Pastoral Studies.
Pastor Phil's family is his main priority. He met his wife Becky at a young age and they both knew that they were meant for each other. They are the proud parents of four children and enjoy the opportunity to pursue ministry together. Because of his love for his own family, Pastor Phil has a strong desire to equip families with the knowledge and understanding of biblical truths, so they will become strong, functional, and established.
Pastor Phil's love for people is undeniable. Everyone who meets him can instantly tell he has a genuine compassion for all people. Through experiencing the Father's love he is compelled to teach: we are no longer slaves, but sons and daughters of God. Because of this relationship, God has only His best for us. Pastor Phil has an amazing gift to minister the promises in God's Word with such clarity that not only do people gain a greater understanding of those promises, but they better understand God and themselves.

Chad was born again as a child and has been a regular church attender his whole life and . However, his real Christian experience didn't begin until just prior to the birth of Believers Christian Church. In 2011, he experienced a revelation regarding his true identity in Christ, and the finished work of the cross. This created a freedom and love in him that the world and religion could not offer. He discovered that the gospel really is good news! The baptism of the Holy Spirit produced a new passion, power, and yearning in Chad that enabled him to hear and respond to the call from God to go into the ministry. Never once had he thought about this terrific possibility before! Chad works as youth pastor, leading a group of high school kids in Believers Christian Church's youth ministry, called P.A.I.D. 517.
Chad is currently attending American Evangelical Christian College. He is married to his amazing wife, Jamie, who has taught him so much about life and loving unselfishly. He is the father to three beautiful kids who teach him patience and understanding everyday. He is excited to see what the Lord is doing in and through his family. He knows that he is a blessed man because of them. By trade, Chad works in the repair and maintenance field.
Children's Ministry Director
Jamie grew up in a Christian home, attending church every Sunday morning, Sunday night, and Wednesday evening. She married her husband Chad at the age of 20 and thought they had it all figured out! They continued to attend church, serve at church, and raise their family to serve God.
In 2011, things began to change. Jamie and Chad received fresh revelation on what being a Christian is all about. God brought Pastor Phil and Becky into their lives. They helped Jamie and Chad by pouring the love of the Father into them which helped them truly understand God's grace. Jamie realized how amazing and how much better life becomes once you view God's grace through revelated eyes! When Believers Christian Church was being established, Jamie was approached to direct the children's ministry. She truly enjoys working with so many wonderful people and loves seeing the bright and smiling faces on the little ones of the church!
She has been married to Chad since 2000 and is mom to three energetic and amazing little ones who are all in love with Jesus. Outside of the home she is a Certified Medical Massage Therapist. Her concern is always on others and their well being.
Awana Children's Ministry Leader
Tim received Jesus as his personal Savior at the age of 4. He had the privilege of growing up in a Christian home. Because his mother ran a day care service, Tim became comfortable with lots of kid activity, which helped prepare him for working with kids. Tim began serving in church as part of children's choir and grew to assist in many other areas of media ministry. Tim also attended AWANA at a young age and has served in AWANA since his teen years. He attended a Christian school that was centered on the ministry of faith.
Tim and his wife, Jenn, parent three busy children. He is a musician, choir director, audio, video, and lighting director with over 20 years of computer knowledge. Tim has received many years of leadership training. He loves working with children, but most importantly he loves God and his family. Tim's life focus is giving Jesus all praise as he helps others grow in their personal walk with the Savior.
Food Pantry Coordinator
After being regular church attenders for many years, Marcie and her husband Scott were directed by the Lord to attend Believers Christian Church. They first visited the church in June of 2012. They knew something was different about Believers when people were reaching out to them after their first time there. They have been so blessed to have found a home and an incredible church family here.
In December, 2012, God placed a strong desire in Marcie's heart to help people in need through a food pantry program. Marcie has played an intricate role in establishing the food pantry at Believers Christian Church. Her vision for this ministry is to offer a hand up, not a hand out, to those in need. Marcie is continually blessed as she reaches out to those in the community and sees how the Lord provides in every way and situation.
Marcie and Scott have been married for 15 years and have four wonderful children. She loves being a stay at home mom and basks in the opportunity to take care of her family on a full time basis. She also enjoys using her creative skills to take something old, and unwanted, and turning it into something beautiful. Marcie is working towards her Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
As a PK (Pastor’s Kid) Brittani has been around ministry her whole life. Born again at a young age, Brittani has actively pursued a personal walk with Jesus since she was a child. The rigors of ministry, religious performance, and extra biblical religious traditions began to take its toll on her. It was the revelation she received in late 2008 about the grace of God, the finished work of Jesus, and righteousness by faith alone, that fundamentally changed the course of her life. Experiencing the love of her Heavenly Father, expressed through the sacrifice of Jesus, broke her free from the bondages of performance and religious activities. Today, Brittani uses the many facets of multi media to project the good news hope, which is the gospel of Jesus Christ, to people all over the world.
Although accepting Jesus as Savior can happen at any age, there is a benefit to growing up in a household where Jesus is Lord. That is the privilege that Andrew had. He met the Lord and found a passion for music at a young age.
Andrew's family moved from Michigan to Texas; that is where Andrew was baptized and when he began to seriously walk with his Lord. To help build a church, Andrew's family moved to Oklahoma and then transitioned back to Michigan. While attending Grand Ledge High School, Andrew pursued his interest in music by participating in choir and learning to play the acoustic guitar. He is actually a third generation singer/songwriter/guitarist who has gleaned much from his grandfather and father, even while learning to play music "by ear".
Andrew met his wife, Candace, shortly after returning to Michigan; he was first captivated by her kind heart. Marriage followed in 2006 and God has blessed them with a precious little girl who is the joy of their life!
In 2012 the Lord led Andrew and his family to Believers Christian Church. His life was forever changed by a revelation of God's truth, His unconditional love and the finished work of Jesus. Since being baptized in the Holy Spirit, Andrew's passion and sensitivity to music has deepened. He loves to pour out praise and worship to his Lord and Savior and he is passionate about sharing that with others.
Greeting & Housekeeping Leader
Carol's personal relationship with Jesus began 15 years ago in Wisconsin, where she was living at the time. Five years after this relationship began, she felt that God was calling her family to move to Michigan. Involvement in a local Michigan church led to personal growth and learning to use God given gifts and talents. Within a few years, God directed Carol to join Pastor Phil and Becky to pioneer Believers Christian Church. It is here that she enjoys learning more about the finished work of the gospel. Carol believes His love is evident throughout the church, and that family is WHO we are while enjoying WHOSE we are. She also feels people's ministry gifts are encouraged here. Carol thoroughly enjoys ministering to people and encouraging the hearts of others, all while making them feel at home the minute they step through the door.
Carol has been married to her husband Pete for 39 years. They have two married children. Carol was a stay at home mom during her children's growing up years and also operated a home based day care center. For the past 25 years, Carol has worked as a CNA. She is currently working in hospice care. Carol loves what she does because it gives her the opportunity to be a vessel of hope for those who are in need of comfort.

In January, 2012, Jennifer felt the Lord telling her that she needed to find a church to attend. One day, after exiting in Eagle, Jennifer noticed a steeple lit up. Driving by, she saw a white, country church and decided to visit. She intended to slip in and out of a service, but was quickly greeted by so many nice people that she felt right at home. She's been a regular part of the Believers family ever since! She is head of the hospitality team and loves to make others feel welcome and at home. She's also starting the Women's Ministry and is looking forward to offering practical help to those at Believers and in the community.
Jennifer has been married to her husband, Joe since 1992. She works as a doctor's medical assistant. Learning about the Lord's love for her and His desire for a personal relationship has been life changing for her. She finds it's exciting to serve the Lord alongside her family and watch positive blessings continue!
Grounds & Building
Joe first discovered Believers Christian Church because of his wife, Jennifer. In the beginning, he only attended services occasionally. Then during the summer of 2012 he became very ill. After two weeks of being sick and unable to work, Jennifer asked Pastor Phil to come to their home and pray with Joe. Pastor Phil explained to Joe what Jesus did on the cross for him and that it was the Lord's will for Joe to be healthy and all he had to do was believe. The next day, Joe felt so much better that he was outside mowing hay!
Joe is happy to be involved in so many different areas of the church, including being the head of maintenance. He has been happily married to his wife, Jennifer, for 21 years and has been farming for the last 25 years. He feels so blessed to be growing deeper in his faith and his understanding of who God is. He is grateful for the Believers church family and that he is able to serve the Lord here!
